Gala Coral Group Ltd

Gala used to be one of the big three groups in the UK, but have now been bought out by Grosvenor – Rank Group. All that remained from that transaction were four sites, in Stockton, Aberdeen, Bristol and Cardiff.

Those four sites were snapped up by the guys behind the Rainbow Casino in Birmingham, and are now Rainbow Casinos.

Gala used to have 23 clubs spread around the country, a combination of shiny new sites (including those Bristol and Cardiff sites – well Bristol anyway) and some older, more tired units.

The parent company still run Coral bookmakers and Gala Bingo and have a pretty good online casino with Gala Casino. Over the years the influence of the bingo management was seen in Gala Casinos, with their promotional strategy being distinctly mass market.
